No more help

At that time it wasn't anymore families. It was everybody to take care for himself. Maus 1 pg 114.
This quote shows that in the time of the Holocaust, every Jew was on his/her own.Jews had to live alone and do everything alone like Vladek. Vladek had to do everything secretly  alone to get food for him and his wife. He had no help from others. He gave people money or something valuable to get food . I can connect this to this movie called The Pianist. In the movie The Pianist, one old man tried to steal things from an woman and that man tried to fight for the food and the food dropped to the floor and the man started to eat it off the ground. This shows that the Jews did not have food. And that they were helpless.

This quote reminds me of helplessness because Jews were alone in this  war and Jews don’t have anyone to be kind give food or clothes . Jews have fight or they have to do bad  thing to people to get the things they wanted. Jews didn’t have each other to protect themselves.Jews lost all there wealthy from this war. They gave there money to survive. Do you think most of the  people who were wealthy survive the Holocaust

  1. This is how the Holocaust started. The Nazis separated or broke up the families. They took everything you had--your possessions, your clothes, your family, and your dignity. The Jews were left powerless and helpless. The Nazis had the Jews reduced to below human levels or animal-like. When food is dropped to the floor, the man starts to eat it off the ground. That is not normal, but it is what he had to do to survive. It is unfortunate that the Jews had to steal from each other or turn each other in, so he/she can survive. I think that the wealthy Jews had a higher chance of survival than the working or poor Jews. I also think that if certain Jews had political connections that they also had a greater chance for survival, too.

    1. I agree With you Ethan the Jews had to survive any way that they could they had no other person to help them. I agree with you about Jews being treated worse than animals. This is sad that the Jews had to go through this all.
